OSMOGRO History
OSMOGRO was formed by Chris Moran to commercialise ideas created and developed during almost twenty years of polymer and biomaterials technology research at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. The company will focus on a fundamental materials development and manufacturing capability in combination with dynamic product creation and design for global markets. While based on a core expertise in hydrogel and Osmogro® materials technologies, the company will use their unique knowledge of speciality polymer materials and manufacturing to provide a wide range of product solutions for a variety of different markets. Ken Hendry, a qualified horticulturist, is one of the UK's leading and world expert growers of Christmas trees and ornamental foliage. He has over 20 years experience in creating and growing new businesses and his products are sold directly to major national DIY Sheds, Garden Centres and other retail outlets. His management and high-volume production experience and skills, combined with an intimate knowledge of the commercial horticulture industry, will help establish the Osmogro® brand and products in the global markets.

It is ideal for all houseplant owners, enthusiasts, experts and novices. Osmogr® is the perfect solution for anyone who has difficulty maintaining regular and correct plant watering practices. A product of 20 years biomaterials technology research, the revolutionary Osmogro® gel membrane delivers water in harmony with your plants' own natural osmosis. In combination with the specially designed flat-based Osmogro® plant pot and a water reservoir (you can use any non-porous, flat-bottomed container like a pot saucer, tray or ceramic bowl), the unique Osmogro® gel membrane disc will let your plant take only the water it needs, even over extended periods such as holidays (different plant types require differing amounts of water depending on environment and season), and because your indoor plants are in control, they will be happier, healthier and longer-living.
Complete Osmogro® houseplant watering systems, including replacement Osmogro® gel and fabric disc sets, Osmogro® flat-based plant pots, starter reservoirs and trays will be available in a wide range of sizes and colours. High quality plastic Osmogro® self-watering pots (13cm and 14cm diameter) and an Osmogro® reservoir (400ml capacity) are currently available in an attractive, traditional terracotta colour.
